About the SID-US Reception

As the development landscape evolves, so too does the way we gather. This year, SID-US is reimagining its signature Annual Dinner as a vibrant Reception--an evening of connection and recognition featuring generous hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and engaging conversation with leaders shaping the future of global development. Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, we’ll host a reception with hearty refreshments, offering a more relaxed, engaging environment for networking and reflection.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gather with your current, past, and future colleagues, friends, and partners from NGOs, the private sector, consulting firms, government agencies, universities, think tanks, and other organizations. Instead of honoring a single individual, we’ll recognize the entire global development community and those who have tirelessly dedicated their careers to improving lives around the world. We'll celebrate our collective impact and we will look ahead to the future—together. In addition, we'll have stations and presentations throughout the Reception to stimulate discussion on the future of international development, which will help to inform our other events being planned for 2026, including our Annual Conference.

Though much has changed across the sector, SID-US remains committed to bringing our community together to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate on shaping the future of global development. We believe that by working together across all sectors, we can build resilience worldwide for a safer, stronger future. Many of you have shared your desire for more opportunities to engage with peers, partners, thought leaders, donors and others – and we’ve listened. As a community, we’ll look back at the work done over the past years, and we'll look forward to what's next and engage in the conversation on the future of our sector.
While the format has evolved, the spirit remains the same: honoring those who advance our shared mission and bringing together the SID-US community in a warm, dynamic setting that reflects the adaptability and collaboration defining our field today.
